Cricut Create Cover

Hi there I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend...the sun is shining and it is a lovely warm day here!

I have been really busy this week making a cover for my Cricut Create machine, I was surprised at how easy and straight forward it was to do!

Once I had chosen my fabric (they are the colours that I want to do my craftroom) I cut out the material and lining and then stitched them seperately together, I then added the wadding in between so it would make it thicker and also protect my machine then stitched them all together using a stitch called stippling.  This is done using a special foot on your machine which allows free motion when sewing allowing you to do random stitching.  I really enjoyed this, so much in fact that I am now going to make matching covers for my Cuttlebug, Grand Calibur and sewing machine!

I've taken a couple of photos's for you to see.

As I make each of the other covers I will post photo's on my blog for you to see!

Happy Crafting!

I Won Some Lovely Blog Candy!

Hi everyone hope you have a lovely Tuesday...although it's early the sun is shining and hopefully it will warm up and be a great day!

I haven't been able to post any blogs since Friday as my laptop lead decided to go up in a puff of smoke! I was really lucky that it didn't affect my laptop...it must be all the use it gets lol! I received my new one early this morning so now I am ready to go again!

I just wanted to post about my blog win :-) I entered Mandy's blog candy which ended on 7th April and won!!  Yipeeee, I was so pleased to win especially as it is my very first win too.  You really must pop over to her blog and have a look around!

So,I want to say a big THANK YOU MANDY and I look forward to receiving and being able to play with my new goodies!

Copic Colour Blending Practice

Good morning to you all!  What another beautiful day the sun is shining here not a cloud in the sky...it's wonderful!

Today's post is to show you how I am doing with my Copics Class.  I've been practicing my blending with various colours on a rounded shape with the light source coming in from the right.  I don't think they look too bad but we shall see when Suzanne has marked them lol!

The next stage is to learn how to colour skin so today I am going to concentrate on colouring faces, arms and legs.  Although I have done a couple of cards already where I have coloured skin it is a bit difficult to master lol...so far they have all come out different and I am trying to come up with a colour combo that I like and feel comfortable with.  When I have some pics of them I will post them for you to see.

Ok now onto something else!  I'm trying to think ahead to when my craftroom is built and making plans of how I want it...which is hopefully going to be done by the end of August/September as we are doing the whole garden too, laying paving and putting in borders and lots of painting, good job I have a husband and two wonderful sons hehe lots of work for them...I'm the organiser...although I would be hands on too if I wasnt still suffering so bad with a torn muscle in my shoulder!  Anyway, I have decided to make some covers for my cricut create, cuttlebug and grand calibur.  I have had a look on the internet and youtube for some ideas and they dont seem too difficult to do (I hope lol).  So yesterday I spent a bit of time having a look for some nice matching materials to do them.  I found some lovely turquoise materials so I ordered them and they should arrive either today or tomorrow.  What I would like to do is take pictures of each stage and post it on here so you can all see how they are done...that is if the cover comes out ok lol!

Right I am now off to do some copic practice.  Hope you all have a wonderful day and happy crafting!

This Is Why I Need A Craft Room LOL!

Hi everyone, hope you are all well!  I thought I would give you a little insight into why I need a craft room.  Below is a photo of my craft things but compared to some other craft rooms I have been looking at my stash looks tiny lol!  But then again, once I have a craft room I will need to fill it (there is a method in my madness lol) and I shall thoroughly enjoy buying it all too hehe!

Also I have a photo of the copics I have so far...I do try to add to them every 2 weeks.  I have also just bought myself the copics airbrushing system but I haven't had time to play with it just yet as I have been trying to concentrate on my Copic Class homework...really must get going again on it!

I will do another posting tomorrow...or should I say later today lol showing my copic colour blending practice.  Anyhoo I'm off to bed now so happy crafting!

Colour Me Creative Challenge - Primary Colours

Hi again!  This post today will be a short one I'm afraid!

I have this card to show you which is for the Colour Me Creative Challenge #14 which was a 'party' card to be done in primary colours.

I just used basic card stock with a balloon decorative paper that I downloaded off the web.  I then cut out some balloons with my cricut, I printed off a Party Time sentiment which I had also downloaded from the web, then coloured a topsy turvy cake image with copics.

Copic colours used are:

G14, YG06, YG11, B05, B02, B00, R29, R24, R22, Y06, Y02, Y00

Happy Crafting!
