Patchwork Bear

Hello and good afternoon to you all!  I was going to do this post this morning but I just do not know where the day has gone!

I made this card yesterday and I used this adorable LOTV stamp called 'Patchwork Bear'.  It is so cute and easy and quick to colour.  This is only the second time I've coloured a bear and although I used the same copics as before, this one is much darker!  I guess I got carried away with the darker copics, but then not all teddies are the same colour (that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it lol)!

I decorated the inside to match.

A close up of Ted!

The photo's are not too good at the moment because of the way I am having to upload them onto my son's computer which is via my iphone first which means I cannot edit them the way I want! (sssshh he doesn't know! He hates me saving anything on his pc! lol I will eventually delete them when I get my new lead for my laptop :-)

Anyway here is the recipe for my card.

New Baby Card

Happy weekend everyone!  Today I have a card for you (shock horror lol).  I have such a lovely parchment book full of baby cards called Baby Treasures by Linda Williams that I decided to make one for my BFF Kerry who had a baby boy on Wednesday.  The parchment pattern was for a twin pram but I adjusted it to a normal one.  I havent done any parching for a little while and it was so nice to do, I was really pleased with it!

Hope you all enjoy your bit of sun today, whoever has been lucky enough to see some, its coming over cloudy here now :-(

Happy crafting!

Quilted Sewing Machine Cover

Today I'm posting a picture of my sewing machine cover that I made.  Although I have a bag for my sewing machine, when its out for a while it gets dusty so I thought I would quilt a cover for it.

You will notice, if you have looked at previous posts, that I have used the same material yet again lol!  It is dwindling away now so I really do think I should invest in something different!  The cover was so easy to make, I just measured the height, width and depth of the machine and cut out the fabric to the size needed.  I made a lining too and put some batting between the layers before sewing together.  I then put 3 button that I had covered on the front.

I have also been making a cover for my Grand Calibur and yes it is in the same fabric lol!  At least everything will be matching!  Once I've finished it I will post a pic.

I have spent today making a card out of parchment for my BFF Kerry who had a baby boy yesterday.  I have seen pictures of him but am hoping to visit later today and get a cuddle off baby Freddie :-)  I will post pictures of my card tomorrow as I have still got a bit to finish on it.

Happy crafting!

Quilted Baby Blankets

Good morning to you all!  It's such an exciting day for me today because my best friend Kerry is having her baby today.  Unfortunately its by caesarean but I am sure she will be fine.  She will have lots and lots of help! Also we know what its gonna be......A BOY!!  I am just so excited I cannot wait for the phone call when she has him :-)))) gosh if I'm like this imagine how her partner is lol!

Well today I have some pics of some baby blankets that I made for her.  They are all made from flannel material and are so cozy and warm.  The first two are made the same but different patterned material and the third one is a rag quilt and so snuggly!  They were soooo easy to make!

And this one is the rag quilt!

I have also bought a few baby bits and bobs too.  I can't wait to give them to her and for my lovely cuddles with baby!  As soon as I have some pics of him I will post them.

Have a great day and happy crafting!

Patchwork Cushion

Hi everyone!  I hope you have all been enjoying the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the nice long weekend.

Today I have for you a couple of pictures of my first patchwork cushion.  I used the 'log cabin' design on the front and on the back I put 2 buttons on which I covered to match the fabric.  It is made like an 'envelope' so the cushion is easy to put in.

I will post some more pictures later in the week of some other quilting projects that I have done.

I have the past few months lost my mojo so if anyone see's it please send it back this way lol!  It must be on its way as I made a card for my niece's 40th birthday this week, I was going to take some pictures of it to put on here but I forgot (think my memory is on the same jaunt as my mojo lol)! She has gone away for the week now so it will have to wait.

Anyway, I am now off to seek inspiration from the wonderful card blogs out there!

Happy crafting!

Hello

Hello!   My goodness I didnt realise I hadn't posted for that long lol!

Well I've still been doing some crafting but I've taken some time off card making to learn how to quilt!

I have started a quilting course at a local shop which is really fun and I am enjoying learning something new but the class is only once a month at the moment.  Each month I learn how to make a different block which should eventually end up being a double quilt but it is gonna take some time lol!

I am already a sewer and have made a few bits of clothing in the past and lots of curtains for my family, friends and my own home but I have always wanted to quilt so I thought I would give it a go.  I've already made a quilted cushion using the 'log cabin' design and I am now in the process of making a set of placemats which are  made using the 'dresden plate' design.  I have also made a beautiful babies quilted blanket out of flannel fabric for my best friend Kerry who is soon to have a baby boy!  It was so easy to do that I'm going to make a couple more for her.  I got the idea for the babies quilt from a wonderful quilting company called the Missouri Star Quilt Company.  The shop is in America but they have a really good forum for quilters and such wonderful fabrics and notions in their shop!  Do make sure you visit their website.  The owner, Jenny, does wonderful Youtube videos of various quilts and other items such as table runners, xmas decorations and many more wonderful things and she shows you such an easy way of quilting!  You really need to check them out, just go to Youtube and type in the name and a huge list of videos come up.  I'm addicted lol!  The baby blanket is called a 'Self Binding Baby Quilt'.  You can see the video here!

Anyway, I will be back soon to post pictures of the sewing projects that i've done so far and pictures of the blocks that I am making at my quilt class.  am now off to do some more sewing :-)

Happy crafting!
